Architectural Anatomy

Cathedrals are some of the most impressive creations of humankind; portals into the divine with intricate arches and structures to support their massive physical and spiritual weight. My work, drawing from both religious and secular historical sources, traces parallels between these bodies of stone and our own anatomy. The pelvis supports our entrails with its delicate system of arches, and is the portal of birth into the terrestrial world: it is an inverted cathedral.

Fragmentos|Reflexiones

This project, started in June of 2022 and still in progress, is a game of mirrors: a series of material experiments rooted in self-portraiture, since one’s own body is our most convenient and habitual model. Its reflection accompanies us in solitude and evidences our biography with physical marks. Within each circle I enclose a reflection on the significance of each fragment: personal, cultural, historic. Each reflection is punctured by needlework, a symbol of feminine entrapment and liberation.

Bestiary

This is a series of performative installations born from my personal rituals to take ownership of a space. The Monsters exist here as a materialization of unwanted aspects of ourselves, examined from a gentler perspective. The Bestiary questions social definitions that trap our bodies into states of otherness, and creates spaces that Monsters have a right to occupy. This is not a monologue: it’s a conversation. The real meaning of each installation comes from the way the audience interacts with it and its creature, the feelings and conversations that those interactions cause, and them being remembered like the memory of a dream.
